Buenas Dias! Como estan?

Here we are in the land of Castilla y Leon, or in other words, Burgos Spain...

I have really felt this week that my companion and I were on the front lines of the church; We experienced both the highest and lowest parts of this great gospel rolling forth. From preaching to entire groups of south Americans on a run down volleyball court, to pleading and warning a recent convert of the difficulties that will come from removing their records from the church, to relating horrific stories of a African escaping war and disease to the plan of salvation, to long spiritual confrontations with pride ridden atheists, we see it all. It's opening my eyes.

Talking to Samuel, our most promising investigator, I really feel the importance of the message. The epic necessity it is for him and all the world. The majority of the world remembers God as a cross and a dead man. As Samuel said it, "Man... if I wanted to remember my dog, I wouldn't be taken pictures of it dead." We carry the unique and true message that God's gospel, Jesus Christ, God's word, it is all very very much alive.

We have a true and tried prophet called directly from God, to lead and guide 12 apostles exactly as Jesus Christ the son of the living God set up. God is not dead, his words continue, we are not lost.

I think of all the modern revelations that we've been so blessed to receive, the hope and guidance it gives, and I am so grateful for Heavenly Father who loves us just as much as He loved the people in the times of old.

I know this gospel is true. I know that by following its precepts it will make me into the man I wish to be. I know that as we work to remember Christ not in just looking at a cross, but as we strive daily to LIVE as He did, to love as He did our lives will fill with a peace and purpose found no where else. Each time we partake of the sacrament, we promise to remember Him ALWAYS, we will remember Him when we see those without food to eat friends to turn to. We will remember Him, when our family needs our loving hand. We will remember Him, and in so doing, eventually become like Him.

I am thankful for a perfect example, and a perfect Savior.

I love you all. If you read this far you deserve a high 5. Ha Ha.

Love Elder Gardner
